“What would it take to get to a 10?”

Am I buying a car?  Nope.   However these were the lame questions that I was asked after taking a look at a presentation for a network marketing company.  I could accept the first one.

My reply, in all seriousness to the second was “that question sucks”.

There is a lot of “automation” to be taken advantage of these days in business.  It is a good thing.  However the real leaders in network marketing develop some skills that enable them to interact with their potential partners on a deeper level.

These two questions that are designed to “close” the prospect are more guides than they are formulas.  They are strategies not techniques.

You want to find out how interested they are.  Then take them to the point where they will move forward with your program.  This is going to come from experimenting and experience.  I can almost guarantee it won’t work most of the time with these two questions.  People are people, not computer programs that respond to zeros and ones.

Take these questions or the ones that you are being taught and make them your own.

Now, you might say “that can’t be duplicated”.  Duplicate this.

Success is what you want to duplicate.  Put yourself in someone’s shoes that isn’t quite sure if what you are offering is for them.  Someone convinced against their will is of the same opinion still.  I am not going to give you the answers here.  This is just a teaser to get you to make it your own.  If you read some of my other material, you may come across the answer.

The answer may not be that obvious. You may have heard about people making a lot of money in Network Marketing. If you were like me, you asked yourself

“How do they do it?”

“Is it worth doing?”

“Will it last?”

“How will take?”

All legitimate questions. The answers really depend on the individual. No one can answer that question for you, especially if it doesn’t work right away.

However, here is where the security is. When you get to the point where you develop skills that can recruit people into your venture (there are skills that need to be developed – in another article) you pass that skill on. You want to work yourself out of work. Once you teach that skill to someone willing to learn, you teach them to teach it. That is yet another skill.

What I’m getting at is your security in Network Marketing comes from building a particular channel deep. The deeper the “channel” gets, the more someone else takes an interest in its stability as well.

Then we drive by a nice brand new mustang.  “That’s what I want!”

“That’s a nice car” I say.

“You can buy me one just like it.”  She says quite confidently.

‘You can buy it yourself’ is my reply.

She rolls her eyes, smiled in disgust and comes back with “I’m only 15, and not old enough to get a job.  How am I supposed to do that?”

The ONE answer I gave her totally destroyed her paradigm.

I wonder how it will affect yours.

We still live in America.  The land of opportunity and Opportunity is EVERYWHERE!

My response to her question was the question itself.

I said “That is exactly what you need to ask!  Way to go!  I’m proud of you.”

She looked at me puzzled.

I said, “Now look within yourself and ask that question expecting to find the answer.

You didn’t say, ‘I can’t do that.’  You said exactly what you need to say.  Didn’t you see the little kid on the news that has the books:

How to Talk to Girls

and
How to Talk to Santa

and a couple other books?  If he can pull it off, so can you.”

Imagine the things you want.

This new house with the fence in that neighborhood painted this color

That vacation for so many days on this date with these people with us.

Model car with such and such interior..  you get the idea..

Then let your mind wander to ‘How can I get it?’

The just let your brain work.  Is it worth this little bit of effort?

You tell me, but for it to happen overnight is a bit of a stretch unless you hit the lottery.

Let your ingenuity and subconscious mind do the same things for you.

Tell yourself exactly what you want, right down to the blue stripes going down the middle.

Then ask, what can I do to earn the money to buy that?

Her answers are obviously going to be different than yours, but you can certainly use the same formula.

Then by using –link to self confidence formula- you can prod your subconscious into giving you the answers.

It creates ambition.  A BURNING DESIRE creates the will power needed to go after it.  It creates the drive to DO what is necessary to have it.

It provides the energy to overcome the inertia of doing nothing.

A BURNING DESIRE stimulates your mind to come up with ideas to put into practice.

Since you are here, you already have some desire to do these things.

What can you expect by cultivating a burning desire?  What will possessing an obsession do for you?

Through your subconscious mind, this desire will express itself through some practical means of obtaining the object back of it.  In other words, your mind will come up with ideas, means, tactics and plans to put into place to attain it.

Having this obsession will give you self confidence as you hold it in your thoughts.

You can expect to have more energy as well.  You are going to need it, trust me.

How does DESIRE work?  How does my mind work once I commit to this process and allow myself to DREAM?

When you try to recall something.. a name, a song, a movie.. does it came to you right away or at some other point later in time?..   Your mind works similarly when you present your intentions to it.  When you present the object, challenge, problem or desire to it, persistently, your mind will go to work to find a way to get it.

Let me propose this ridiculously simple example.  Let us say you now want a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.  You now present this desire to your mind.  What does it present back to you?  A simple solution based on past experiences.  You need to find at least one slice of bread (you can cut it in half).  The next two things are the butter of the peanut and grape jelly.  One more tool will be very handy and that is a knife.  I think you can take it from here, but I submit to you that the whole process is that simple.  It will just take a little more presenting of the desire to your mind with more difficult items that you don’t have as much experience.

What if whatever you wrote down, came to pass?  What could you achieve?.. A new career?..A specific business venture?..A new romantic relationship?..  Do you want to be healthier?

You will then seek out the ways to get these things..

So, here is what you do NOW:

What does your desire cost?  Is it a boat?..Freedom?..There is likely a monetary figure associated with it.  So fix that amount in your mind along with the desire.  Be very specific.  $52,975 for example.

Determine what you are willing to give.  Give up some sleep?  Some time away from friends and family.. Are you willing to invest a certain amount of money or energy level?  This isn’t something for nothing.

Establish a definite date by which you will have this dollar amount.

Now create your plan.  A definite plan.  Will this take a while?.. Probably. But BEGIN AT ONCE on the plan and begin at once to put the plan into action regardless of whether or not you are ready!

WRITE IT ALL OUT.  All of it in a clear concise statement.

I will have x dollars

I will render (these) actions

I will have it by this date

My plan is (this).

Lastly, read this written statement aloud two times a day.  First thing in the morning and right before you go to sleep.  This will focus your conscious mind during the day and put your subconscious mind to work for you as you sleep.  As you read, see yourself in possession of your desires and express the emotions behind their attainment.

These tasks are not hard labor.  Think about this: how many wealthy people do you know that did it by hard labor?.. not many..  I am not saying they did not work.  This takes some effort.  Actually do this and comment below that it is effortless.  This is hard work.  But it gives you the DEFINITENESS of PURPOSE that is absolutely crucial.
